animando

The first major documentary about the German anime and manga scene. A pioneering media project full of video reports and interviews, from which our present-day event expertise has grown.

animando

The project started in January 2014 with work on the first major documentary about the German anime and manga scene, which was published on YouTube two years later. The animando family shed light on and documented the scene and wanted to make manga visible as part of the culture in Germany, with video reports and interviews that are available free of charge on YouTube.

Maybe Destiny

What if you seriously pursued what you do best and enjoy most? After Hendrik resolves to live his dream, his life changes. No matter what his chances are, his goal is clear: to become a German mangaka. The short film is on YouTube.

Supported by TOKYOPOP and Carlsen, the submitted dōjinshi were judged by professional editors of the German manga publishers. animando accompanied the award and presented it at Connichi 2015, the Leipzig Book Fair 2016 and Anime Messe Berlin 2017.
